A native New Yorker, I have lived on the Upper West Side since 1973. Associated with Klara Madlin Real Estate since 1987, I specialize in coop and condo sales on the Upper West Side and in Morningside Heights. Earlier, I served as executive director of a non-profit educational organization based in New York and Washington, DC. My responsibilities included fund-raising and organizing Capitol Hill conferences on national policy issues with an emphasis on human rights. Working in bygone days of bipartisan cooperation helped prepare me for a real estate broker’s role in achieving harmonious agreement between buyer and seller. As a co-op shareholder and board member over the years, I have experienced what it takes to make a good home in New York—a city of both challenges and dreams come true. Nothing satisfies me more than having former customers stop me on Broadway to say how happy they are in their homes.
Always a keen negotiator, I have honed my sense of market value through years of experience. Call on me and I will listen carefully to satisfy your needs as seller or buyer. In this changing market, when experience counts, I invite you to count on me to help you achieve your real estate goals.

“We had the good fortune to work with David Thompson as our Real Estate agent over many years. We purchased, later sublet, and finally sold our coop apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side with David’s valuable help and guidance. We would like to express our deep appreciation for his professionalism and dependability. Combined with his friendly manner they make working with David a truly rewarding experience. We would gladly recommend David Thompson to anyone looking for a great Real Estate agent.”
